       		<description><![CDATA[On Saturday, March 15, Holy Cross Orthodox Church will sponsor a Lenten retreat with Mother Lois Farag, a Coptic Orthodox nun and assistant professor of early church history at Luther Seminary in St Paul. The retreat will take place from 9 am to 1 pm at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 28005 Old Towne Rd, Chisago City.        		<description><![CDATA[The St John's Bible exhibit will be at Central Presbyterian Church, 500 Cedar St, St Paul, until March 7. On Tuesday, February 26, at 7 pm, there will be a forum and presentation by the director of the project; this event is free and open to the public. Video, facsimile, projected images, and a real page will be used to guide participants through the story of the project. The church is open Monday through Friday and is available for people wishing to see the more than 30 illuminations and pages. They are beautiful and inspiring.        		<description><![CDATA[Author Jim Wallis will be in the Twin Cities next week, as part of his book for The Great Awakening: Reviving Faith and Politics in a Post-Religious Right America. Jim Wallis is the founder and president/CEO of Sojourners and author of the recent New York Times best-selling book, God's Politics: Why the Right Gets It Wrong and the Left Doesn't Get It.<br><br>Wallis will appear in four different venues. On Wednesday, February 20, he will be at the University of Minnesota, speaking at Coffman Memorial Union (Minneapolis campus) at 4 pm. That evening at 7:30 pm, he will be at the First Universalist Church, 3400 Dupont Ave S, Minneapolis.<br><br>On  Thursday, February 21, Wallis will be speak at the Westminster Town Forum, scheduled for noon at Macalester College (Weyerhaeuser Chapel), 1600 Grand Avenue, St Paul. His topic for the forum will be "Reclaiming Government as a Force for Good."        		<description><![CDATA[Voices wanted!  The MEOCCA Pan-Orthodox Choir invites anyone interested in singing to attend rehearsals for the Sunday Lenten Vespers.  They will be held at St. Mary's Orthodox Cathedral in the choir loft at 1701 Fifth Street NE Mpls, MN 55413.  We will hold rehearsals evenings listed below and one hour prior to the service at the individual locations.        		<description><![CDATA[The Minneapolis Deanery of the Diocese of the Midwest will host its annual fundraiser dinner on Sunday, March 2nd at 5:00 pm at Sarna's Classic Grill in Columbia Heights.  The purpose of the fundraiser is to help provide scholarship money for diocesan seminarians. <br><br>"These deanery dinners provide a wonderful opportunity for members of our parishes to come together in fellowship, to get to know each other a bit better and to support our young men and women studying at our seminaries," said Archbishop JOB. <br><br>The diocese is committed to providing financial support to all its students studying at St. Vladimir's and St. Tikhon's Seminaries. The funds raised from these dinners are added to scholarship money budgeted for each year. The funds are distributed each semester for the entirety of the student's program. <br><br>Tickets will be on sale for $50 from February 3rd to February 24th.
